Kia Slam Dunks SEMA 2011 with Basketball-Themed Optima Hybrid

Kia's SEMA displays this year are all about fun and games.

Kia are making their mark at SEMA this year by arriving in Las Vegas with a host of sports-themed vehicles, and in addition to their golf-themed Soul and the Hockey Forte hatchback they're bringing the "Slam Dunk" Blake Griffin Optima Hybrid. "Our involvement in the world of sports has dramatically increased awareness and perception of the Kia brand, and together with some high-profile partners we have created a lineup of fun and eye-catching vehicles with unique backstories and plenty of personality."

So says Michael Sprague, Vice President, Marketing & Communications of Kia Motors America. As you would expect the Korean firm has a partnership with the LA Clippers, which is why West Coast Customs were instructed to take on the basketball-themed Optima Hybrid project. The basketball custom orange paint scheme featuring Griffin's personal logo on the hood contrasts with the matte black 20-inch alloys; and the interior features basketball-court flooring, and custom leather seats with the forward's autograph embroidered on the front headrests.

Finishing touches include two flat-screen TVs mounted in the back of the front headrests linked to an X-Box, and a 'Pop-A-Shoot' basketball hoop in the trunk.
