Disney+ has announced that itsnew F1 documentary,Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, will premiere on November 15.

The unscripted documentary, hosted byKeanu Reeves, tells Ross Brawn's incredible F1 story. When he entered the intimidating world of Formula 1, Brawn was surrounded by bigger teams with larger budgets. Despite this, Brawn won the World Championship in 2009, whileJenson Buttonsecured the Drivers' Championship.

Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Storygoes behind the scenes of this incredible story. The documentary includes footage from the F1 archives and first-hand accounts from key people, including those on the track and the garage, including Jenson Button, Rubens Barrichello, and Ross Brawn.

Reeves not only hosts the documentary series but serves as an executive producer, too, alongside three-time BAFTA-winner Neil Duncanson.

The story behind Brawn is genuinely incredible. Ross Brawn had been the technical director for Honda Racing F1 when the Japanese automaker decided to withdraw from Formula 1. He purchased the team for just £1 ($1,22) in late 2008 and officially formed Brawn GP in March 2009.

In the same month, the FIA agreed to the team's rebranding and considered Brawn GP an entirely new entrant. Thankfully, the Vice President of the FIA, Keith Hayes, graciously decided to brush aside the entry fee due to the team's special circumstances.

We won't go into too much detail (that's what the documentary is for), but the team was sold to engine supplier Mercedes-Benz after just one season and was rebranded Mercedes GP. Ross Brawn stayed on as team manager for another two years.

Last year, a surprise teaser from the Brawn F1 official Twitter account suggested the teamwould make a comeback to the sport, but nothing has come of this. Then again, this could have just been a teaser for the new show.

It's not the first in-depth documentary to focus on the iconic motorsport. Netflix'sDrive to Survive, which has been credited with introducing many Americans to the glamorous world of F1, has been around for quite some time. The fifth season wasmade available earlier this year.

Jenson Button may not be an F1 driver anymore, but he recently put on a spectacular show at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he piloted aChevrolet Camaro ZL1Garage 56 NASCAR for the endurance race.

Formula 1 fans in the US can stream all four episodes on Hulu from November 15, 2023.
