This concept looks destined for production.

一个coach-built special edition based on the Land Rover Defender, the Flying Huntsman Concept, unveiled this week in Geneva, is British aftermarket firm A. Kahn Design's latest project. "With the Huntsman Concept I set out to create something fashionable, iconic and revolutionary which carries on the spirit of the Defender. These days it's not what you wear, it's what you drive. It's a truly British icon in the same way the Wrangler is to the US, the G-Class to Germany or the Land Cruiser L70 to Japan.

It's instantly recognizable - if you saw one on the Moon, you'd know it was a Defender," said Afzal Kahn, CEO and creative director of the Kahn Group. The Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6x6 Concept comes powered by a 6.2-liter GM-sourced LS3 V8 rated at around 430 hp, mated to a six-speed automatic with tap shift control. Built for offroading with roadgoing SUV comfort in mind, the six-wheeler boasts a hi-lo drive system and locking differentials, a heavy duty chassis, beefed-up suspension and braking systems, with exterior styling inspired by the company's aggressive Chelsea Truck Company Defenders.

It also wears a square sectioned wide arch body kit manufactured from hammer formed aluminum panels, as well as a redesigned X-Lander front grille and front bumper. After lengthening the hood by 400 mm, the rear cabin by 800 mm and increasing width by 150 mm, the Defender's windscreen was reshaped, the front and rear doors were lengthened and a full panoramic roof extends from the B pillars to the rear. Armored variants are currently under consideration, as are four-wheels and optional body styles including hard tops and pickups. If you're looking for more power, other potential engines include the V8 Ford Coyote and V8 Ford XS. If put into production, expect a price tag north of $200,000.
