Infiniti QX Monograph Teaser Previews The New QX80

Teaser /3 Comments

We got the scoop back in February, and now the long-awaited SUV has begun emerging from the shadows.

Infiniti has just released its first teaser image for the new QX Monograph concept, announcing that the vehicle will be presented to the public for the first time at The Lodge at Pebble Beach as part ofMonterey Car Week. We'll see the covers pulled from the new SUV at 10 AM on August 17, and this fresh concept will inform our eyes on what to expect from the future of the Infiniti design language. We got the scoop on what this would be earlier in the year, but let's first see what has been revealed in the teaser.

The Japanese automaker shows us that the double-arched grille will be redesigned, and the announcement notes that Infiniti's signature "digital piano key" lighting will also evolve. You can see the current sort of lighting below.

In February this year, Bob Welby, Infiniti's senior director of operations, toldCarBuzzthat thenew concept would preview the QX80luxury SUV. The QX Monograph name is not new, of course, with the suffix finding itself attached to the QX80 in 2017. That vehicle's styling upgrades found their way to the 2018 facelifted production model. Similarly, theQX60 Monographshown to us two years ago previewed theQX60in facelifted form.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that this new concept, unlike so many others shown to us by automakers of all dispositions, truly will give us a strong impression of what the nextQX80将会看起来像。最后QX80莫nograph concept appears in the following images.

As mentioned, the reveal will take place at The Quail, but for those not interested in seeing what the future has in store, Infiniti will be part of an exhibit calledDesign Historyat the Japanese Automotive Invitational. This is the fourth year that Infiniti will be involved with the event, located within the Concours Village.

Open from Thursday, August 17 to Saturday, August 19, from 9 AM-5 PM and on Sunday from 9 AM-6 PM, the exhibit will show quarter-scale design models to the public for the first time, with these showing a 1916 DAT 41 (one of the first Japanese production cars), a 1966 Prince Skyline 2000-GTB (the last Prince-badged model before Nissan took over the Skyline name), a 1970 Nissan Skyline H/T (the first model after Prince and Nissan merged), and a 1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R design model used to finalize the design of the sports car. The paint on this inspired theiconic Midnight Purple hue, and a matching R34 GT-R (life-size) will accompany it.
