GMC's Super Luxurious Truck Is Hot Property

Reservations for the plush pickup are full.

While Lincoln and othersfailed to make a successful luxury truck, the concept has caught on in recent years. Recently joining the hotly contested segment is the Toyota Tundra Capstone,an upmarket derivativeboasting semi-aniline leather, and walnut wood trim, among other refinements. But the newly launchedGMC Sierra 1500Denali Ultimate also wants a slice of the pie and, judging by high demand, it might be vying for a bigger piece.

A General Motors spokesperson toldGM Authoritythat capacity for the plush truck has already been reached. "Due to strong interest in the most advanced and luxuriously appointed Sierra ever, we have reached our production capacity for the year for the new 2022 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate," they said. With a starting price of $81,100, there are clearly many monied truck fans out there.

客户希望range-topping德纳里峰那e were able to place a pre-order for the truck. A $100 fee was required to secure the cherished spot. The company spokesperson did mention that other trim levels are still available to order. So what is it that makes this truck so desirable? Well, GM is touting it as the "most advanced and luxurious pickup in its class," which is a bold statement.

It's certainly not short on power, with a 6.2-liter V8 is fitted as standard. 420 horsepower provides ample motivation but if you prefer gas mileage to a V8 grumble, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine is also available at no cost. But these engines are available on lesser models, too. What sets the Denali Ultimate apart is the sumptuously appointed cabin.

Aside from leather-trimmed seats with a massage function, the plush pickup boasts a 15-inch multicolor head-up display and a sunroof. Wood trim and a microsuede headliner add an element of class to the cabin, although some cheaper plastics do lurk beneath your line of vision.

Aside from many other features, the Denali Ultimate expresses its position as the range-topper with several exterior adornments. Finished in a darkened, graphite-like chrome, the grille lends the front end plenty of presence. The tasteful chrome treatment is repeated on the intricately designed 22-inch wheels and appears far more sophisticated than the rather loud examples fitted to the Tundra Capstone.

We're guessing GM will certainly make a plan to meet the demand of eager buyers before they go in search of a luxury truck from a rival brand. This isn't the first time in recent months that the company has seen demand outstrip supply, though. Previously, General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced that the second round of reservations for the Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV will be eschewedin favor of full-on customer reservations. Hopefully, the brand can apply the same strategy with the Denali Ultimate.
