Jenson Button and Mike Rockenfeller are returning to action at Goodwood.
Following asuccessful 24 Hours of Le Mans appearance, NASCAR's Garage 56 has returned to the motorsport scene with its modified No. 24Chevrolet Camaro ZL1在滚筒的古德伍德的节日d. The stock car impressed the world by completing the100th edition of the endurance racein 39th, clocking faster laps than GTE Am cars.
For the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 has been scheduled to make seven hill climb runs over four days. Behind the wheel are 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button and 2010 Le Mans winner Mike Rockenfeller. Both drivers piloted the car at Le Mans alongside seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson.
The team hasn't brought the same Le Mans Camaro to West Sussex, England, though. Instead, the duo will use the Garage 56 program backup car powered by a 5.8-liter V8 engine developed by Hendrick Motorsports. The stock car is also said to have shaved off 240 lbs from the standard NASCAR Cup Series spec of 3,200 lbs.
"The Garage 56 program has been an overwhelming success for us in further introducing motorsports fans from around the world to NASCAR," said John Doonan, IMSA President and Garage 56 Program Manager.
"Taking the Garage 56 Car to the Goodwood Festival of Speed gives us another chance to bring the world of stock racing to fans of a wide variety of motorsports."

Running alongside the Camaro ZL1 at the festival are exciting new cars, including theLamborghini SC63 Hypercar, developed to take the fight to current Le Mans champion Ferrari at the Circuit de la Sarthe next year. Hyundai has alsorevealed the Ioniq 5 N, a performance-oriented version of the all-electric compact crossover with 641 horsepower.
