Movies & TV /2 Comments

The 918 Spyder and the Red Bull Ring are now ready for your laps.

TodayGran Turismoreleased a new update, patch 1.19, covering all sorts ofnew in-game material. Of course, the highlight of the updated racing game's new patch is, predictably, new cars. Those include the Tomica-sponsored grandfather of theNissan GT-R, the Porsche 918, and an old Maserati racer you may never have heard of.

Still, if you ask us (gamer nerds), that 1954 Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder might be the coolest one of the bunch. It will be available for download on July 29. GT also updated a number of in-game aspects, including some new tracks, like the Red Bull Ring, home toF1's Austrian Grand Prix.

The full list of new tracks is as follows: The Red Bull Ring, Fuji International Speedway, Willow Springs International Raceway, Kyoto Driving Park (one of GT's own tracks),Circuit de la Sarthe(GT calls this the 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit), and the game's own Trial Mountain Circuit.

The cars are all available for purchase with in-game moolah, so you won't be heading to the PlayStation store just to buy a car you could never afford in real life anyway. The Maserati was guaranteed a spot on-screen after winning the Gran Turismo Award at the 2014 Pebble Peach Concours d'Elegance.

While that's certainly been a long time coming, GT fans have been waiting longer for the Tomica Skyline race car called the Super Silhouette. It's been over 20 years since the Nissan GT-R R30 SSS was in-game. Finally, the Porsche 918, which is only the second of the early hybrid hypercar Holy Trinity comprised of it, the McLaren P1, and the Ferrari LaFerrari.

There are a number of dealers you can purchase these new cars from inGran Turismo. The Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder will be available on the above date from the Legend Cars dealer. As for the Nissan GT-R R30 SSS, that'll also be available from the Legend Cars dealer. Unfortunately, we don't know how many in-game credits these two will cost.

However, we do know that the 918 will run you a hefty 1.6 million credits, and will be available via the game's special Brand Central dealer. While the other two must wait until July 29 to be available, the 918 is available immediately.
