Four New Infiniti Products Are Coming Before 2027

一个side from an all-new QX80, the brand will also introduce a Tesla Model S rival and a premium electric crossover.

Infiniti hasbeen in the doldrums of late. Sales of the Japanese premium vehicles have declined, with the company shifting a mere 46,619 units for the entirety of 2022 - a 20.4% decline compared to the previous year. But the automaker hopes to make a bold return to success, according to一个utomotive News(AN), with dealers being shown a new plan to increase sales to 100,000 per annum by introducing new and exciting products, including EVs.

Infiniti is hedging its bets on four new or updated models comprising two electric cars to be introduced before 2027. To underscore just how serious the company is, Nissan North America's sales and marketing boss Michael Colleran promised retailers that Nissan is committed to Infiniti and will create a greater distinction between the two brands.

Infiniti recentlyunveiled a new corporate logoand refreshed showroom designs, which signaled that a significant change was on the horizon.

一个n unnamed Infiniti dealer said executives discussed "how much more margin and growth there is in the premium segment." Despite the company's rocky past, he believes Infiniti can deliver on its promises. But not all retailers left the dealer conference feeling convinced.

"The brand has struggled to launch products on schedule," said another dealer. "Nissan and Infiniti are about three years behind on product compared to other OEMs. By 2027, many competitors will be way ahead on technology and range."

Rival brands have several electric vehicles to choose from, and Infiniti is being left behind in this ever-growing segment. The ancientQX80SUV, for example, is a relic from the past and is inferior to its more contemporary rivals in many ways.

So, what can we expect?

Infiniti

Sticking with the QX80, the full-size SUV will be reborn as a super luxury vehicle with a price tag that surpasses the $100,000 mark. Aimed directly at the Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade, the new QX80 is expected to attract new buyers (75% are expected to be new to the brand).

Infiniti's projections show these clients will be monied individuals raking in more than $250,000 a year, with a net worth of "at least $1 million," said an unnamed retailer. To succeed in this arena, Infiniti must overcome several issues. Firstly, buyers in this segment expect the very best and can easily take their business to Mercedes-Benz or Land Rover.

"We have a tough road ahead," added the dealer. "Consumers with this budget have a lot of other options." To overcome any possible badge snobbery, the third-generation QX80 will feature a sumptuous interior one dealer described as "Mercedes-Maybach GLS-like."

一个24-inch digital display will span the width of the fascia, while passengers at the front and rear will be treated to touchscreens for the climate controls. The new model will reportedly offer second and third-row passengers the same interior space and comfort as the front occupants.

Moreover, dealers claim the vehicle will be loaded with a flotilla of driver-assistance technology and the latest connectivity features. The QX80 will reportedly be able to sense the occupants' temperature and adjust the temperature accordingly. Lastly, the air suspension will adjust the ride height automatically to allow passengers to exit the car easily.

一个ll this is very important on a luxury vehicle, but image plays an important part too. The replacement is described as larger, with the squared-off looks of the iconic Range Rover. We can expect a larger grille, slim head- and taillights, and retractable door handles.

Perhaps we will see an evolution ofthe QX80 Monograph Concept(pictured) with more modern details.

一个s for power, the monstrous 5.6-liter V8 will make way for a more efficient twin-turbocharged six-cylinder with 450 horsepower - 50 hp more than the existing naturally-aspirated engine.

两年后,英菲尼迪将引入一个政变e-like SUV based on the QX60 platform. The QX65 will be aimed directly at the new Lexus RX and will hit the market with rakish styling; "shark-fin-style" taillights can be expected, along with the QX80's prominent grille. Expect this to be the larger brother to the QX55 (pictured below),first revealed in 2020.

Dealers waiting for Infiniti-branded electric vehicles will have to practice patience, with the first Infiniti EV expected to hit the scene in late 2026. Described as a "striking evolution" of the Q70, this fastback-styled model is poised to battle the Model S when it arrives in the coming years.

The vehicle will reportedly have short overhangs, giving it a sporty look, and new light cluster designs at the front and rear. The rear has been described as "Porsche-like" by dealers.

一个year later, the Q70-sized EV will be joined by an electric crossover, which one retailer described as a futuristic QX50. Like the forthcoming QX80, it too will don retractable door handles and slim headlights. These vehicles will be produced at Nissan'smanufacturing plant in Canton, Mississippi.

Once a purveyor of fresh and exciting products, we hope Infiniti can inject desirability into its lineup. The addition of a sports car or svelte coupe wouldn't hurt either. Previously, Steve Lapin, a prominent Infiniti dealer, said the brand is in desperateneed of a halo product. "If we're going to become this aspirational brand, we would need a six-figure GT-R-type car ... we need a differentiator," he said.
