Ford Heads to SEMA With Three Custom Expeditions

SEMA 2014 /57 Comments

Showcasing the versatility of the large SUV.

Ford unveiled the facelifted Expeditionearlier this year, with the 2015 model losing its 5.4-liter V8 in favor of the carmaker's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. To highlight this and the large SUV's other attributes, Ford has teamed up with Tjin Edition, DUB Magazine and Vacaar to create three custom Expeditions that will be on show at SEMA 2014 next week. The most performance oriented of the trio is the dark gray Tjin Edition Expedition, which has been boosted to 405 hp thanks to a Vortech charge air cooler, remapped ECU and side-exiting Magnaflow exhaust.

On top of that, the SUV gets a custom Unique Fabrications chassis, an AccuAir suspension management system, Air Lift struts, Baer brakes and 24-inch Rotiform alloys. DUB was tasked with highlighting the Expedition's onboard comfort and tech, fitting custom seats, LED lights, a full-length center console with motorized hidden compartments, and an upgraded sound system, while video monitors and video game system with wireless headphones have been installed in the rear. Exterior and chassis mods include tinted windows, 26-inch concave alloys, lowered suspension, a Borla exhaust and high-performance brakes.

The Vacaar Expedition is all about adventure, with a two-tone BASF custom paint job, front bull bar, Go Rhino! side steps and hitch stop, a cargo basket by Yakima MegaWarrior, and 20-inch Mamba M15 offroad alloys.
