Ford Building New EV Offroader Called "Everglades?"

Ford is conquering one national park after another in a spate of trademark filings that, according to Motor Trend, is set to secure naming rights for its popularF-150 pickupand upcomingBronco. After filing trademark rights for names such as Big Bend and Badlands, both names expected to be tied in with the 2021 Bronco and 2021 Bronco Sport which might beoffered in truck form, Ford has gone ahead and claimed the Everglades name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

It is still unclear at his point what Ford plans on doing with the Florida-approved Everglade name, but the filing clearly states that the name will be used for "motor vehicles, namely, automobiles, pick-up trucks, electric vehicles, sport-utility vehicles, off-road vehicles, and their structural parts."

We must admit that that's a pretty broad statement, but the fact that the filing includes the word "electric" could point to battery-powered off-road orientated machines which could include the Bronco, which recently got itsofficial debut date.

The new Ford F-150 which is set to beunveiled later this monthis also a candidate for electric power and could see a new moniker being attached to the hallowed F-150 name. We are yet to find out if the Everglades name will find a place amongst the F-150 Raptor, or the F250 and F-350 Super Duties.
