Fisker Ocean Arrives Before Cybertruck Despite Being Revealed Later

Fisker has officially started delivering the 22 initial Ocean One launch edition units to US customers. Despite being revealed later, theFisker Oceanarrived in the US market before the Tesla Cybertruck, scheduled toenter production this year.

"We have been waiting for this moment since we started the development of the Fisker Ocean in October 2020," said Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker.

"As a California-based company, we are thrilled that our first US customers are finally getting behind the wheel of the Fisker Ocean and will experience its innovative features, class-leading 360-mile range, and highest levels of sustainability."

Compared to Tesla's crossover EV models, the Ocean got the upper hand with itsEPA range of 360 miles; the Model X and Model Y only offer a maximum range of 348 miles and 330 miles, respectively. Fisker is also taking the fight to the leading EV company in the US by selling a relatively more attainable EV that starts at only $37,499.

The Fisker Ocean appeals to car buyers with its premium amenities, including a 17.1-inch revolving central touchscreen, a solar roof, and an in-house 3D audio system. It also brings a wide range of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features under the brand's FI-Pilot Package.

Powering the Fisker EV is a dual-motor setup capable of generating 468 horsepower and 513 lb-ft of torque. Fisker claims the Ocean can go from zero to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. The charging time is around 33 minutes using a DC fast charger.

"We're grateful our customers have been patient with us as we dealt with a longer-than-expected certification period earlier this year, and we're happy their patience is now starting to be rewarded," said Fisker.
