In the case of this listing on Mecum Auctions, the latest star is a2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 Convertible. This particular example, finished in Sebring Orange paint, is the final Corvette to be produced for the 2020 model year, which automatically makes it that much more of a collector's item.
Having being finished just weeks ago on December 14, 2020, VIN 19456 still comes with its protective plastic and just six delivery miles on the clock. Almost a month ago, we knew what thisfinal 2020 Corvettewould look like and found out then that it was sold to a customer via a New York dealership. That customer must've known it could sell for a lot more than the base price, so here it is.
Inside, the Corvette Convertible is finished in Natural leather, while it is a top-tier 3LT variant.
Features fitted to this Corvette include a head-up display, a front HD curb camera, heated/ventilated seats, and a power-adjustable tilt/telescopic steering column. Like other C8 Corvettes, it's powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine which comes paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Interestingly, this final 2020 Corvette is also one of the rarest specifications you'll see.
Based on data from the National Corvette Museum which gives us an idea of themost popular optionsfor the Corvette last year, Sebring Orange accounted for just 6.8 percent of all units.
Look more closely and you'll notice the Corvette script finished in striking blue at the back. Besides this, over 80 percent of customers opted for the coupe instead of the convertible. We anticipate that the final 2020 Corvette will sell for a significant sum. Hopefully, it'll enjoy more time on the road than thefirst 2020 Corvette, which sold for $3 million. Who knows, maybe this orange beast could surpass that.
