Some customers claim they have been offered the opportunity to have their vehicles painted in a unique color.

TheChallenger SRT Demon 170is the swansong for theICE-powered Dodge muscle cardestined to become a collector's item, but some of the 3,300 units destined for production will be even more special than the rest.

According to a post in a Facebook group dedicated to theSRT Demon 170, one buyer has been offered the opportunity to paint their vehicle in a unique color. Tony Diglio, a member of the group mentioned above, shared an email he received from Dodge regarding his Demon 170.

"We're so excited to confirm that of the paint colors you chose, the one that is officially your 1-of-1 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is: Modern: Yellow Jacket (PY4-RY4, 94502)," reads the message.

Many were under the impression that Dodge was only offering standard factory colors, so how did this customer manage to get a unique paint finish?

In an earlier post on the same group, Diglio explained that he was privy to the invite-only Jailbreak 170 program. This reportedly allows the lucky customer to paint their 170 in one of 40 unique shades. 20 of these options are from Dodge's heritage color palette, while the remaining half are said to be modern hues curated by the company's design team.

The criteria for an owner to be invited by Dodge is currently unknown, but according to Diglio, the privilege of having a unique color is affixed to a $30,000 price tag. We've contacted the automaker for comment regarding this program and will update the article accordingly once we receive a reply.

Last month, a build slot for a Demon 170sold for a combined figureof $700,000 at a Barrett-Jackson charity auction. To sweeten the deal, Dodge has offered to paint the vehicle in a color of the buyer's choosing, makingit a one-of-one build.

If this program does exist, it would be the priciest (and most exclusive) optional extra offered for the Demon 170. We've already lookedat all the optionson this mega muscle car, including the ludicrously priced sunroof option. At $9,995, it's an eye-watering amount of money. Dodge intentionally made this feature expensive to persuade buyers not to purchase it.

"A sunroof goes against the ethos of the vehicle, but we are making it available for customers who truly desire one. For those customers choosing a sunroof, it will not come cheap," said the company.

Even if you go without a sunroof, it won't be the end of the world. Most buyers won't notice and will be too busy entertaining themselves with the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produces as much as 1,025 horsepower when running on an E85 ethanol blend.
