China's BMW 7 Series Copycat Has An Even More Ridiculous Grille

两车都是recently photographed side-by-side in a parking lot by Car News China allowing us to compare them. While the similarities are striking, the Hongqi H9's grille makes the BMW's look comparatively small. The grille on the 7 Series looks slightly wider, but the H9's is noticeably taller and has a prominent central chrome bar extending along the hood, giving the car a commanding presence.

Slim LED daytime running lights also run along the edge of the grille and connect to the matrix LED headlights. Ironically, the Chinese copycat car arguably looks better than the real thing.

As you'd expect for a Chinese luxury sedan, the cabin is appointed with premium leather, wood, and chrome materials and comes equipped with a large infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster.

Whereas the BMW 7 Series is offered with the choice of a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, and a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 with the latter producing 601 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, China's H9 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 252 hp and 280.3 lb-ft. Alternatively, the luxury sedan is also available with a more powerful supercharged 3.0-liter V6 producing 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
