Chevy's Revenge Against Ram Is Coming Soon

The battle forsecond place between Chevrolet and Ramhas never been fiercer, especially since the latter won that spot in recent months. Chevy and GMC already have to contend with being second place behind the hot-sellingFord F-150, but the fact that it lost its spot to Ram has been deemed unacceptable. The problem for Chevy and GMC is that the latestRam 1500is simply a better truck regarding interiors. Compare the interior design and build quality of the 2020雪佛兰西尔维拉多1500and 2020 Ram 1500 and it's not even close; the Ram has scored a knockout. Chevy, however, is gearing up for another round.

According toMuscle Cars and Trucks, the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 andGMC Sierra 1500will feature significantly revamped interiors featuring larger infotainment screens, higher quality materials, and an overall fit and finish improvement.

Offering attractive sales incentives is not enough to regain its number two sales spot, but rather building a full-size pickup truck with a high-quality interior that meets and/or beats that of its competitors will. There's no way around it. But why didn't GM give both trucks the interiors they clearly desperately needed when the current generation launched?

Inside sources claim GM got wind of the fact that Ram was ready to launch its new 1500 for 2019. Management initially did not want to launch the trucks at that time but decided there was no choice. GM did not want Ram to have the spotlight to itself. The sacrifice for speeding up the launch was not finishing the interiors to the class-leading standards as originally planned. GM will have a second chance for next year. Ram has also given its Motor City competitor a new benchmark, meaning it should also watch its back.
