Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV Is Alive And Well And Insanely Popular In Zimbabwe

The Chevrolet Trailblazer name died in the US market a few years ago, but it lives on in other parts of the world. And no, the SUV sold outside the US isn't the same as the last one. Instead, Chevrolet essentially turned the Colorado mid-size pickup into an SUV. Actually, we're kind of jealous this new Trailblazer isn't sold stateside. It's a great SUV, and other countries, specifically Zimbabwe, know it. GM Authority reports that the current Trailblazer is now that African country's favorite SUV.

Sales were up by 25 percent in 2014 compared to the previous year. In fact, that gives the Trailblazer a 31 percent market share in Zimbabwe. GM of South Africa claims the Trailblazer's Zimbabwe success comes down to it being the right SUV at the right market, at the right time, for the right price. "This exponential growth can largely be factored down to have the right product for the market, retailed through our dedicated Autoworld dealer partners who are committed to provide customers with outstanding customer service," stated a GM executive. And get this: this Trailblazer can be had with either a turbo diesel or gasoline engine, and a choice of either rear- or four-wheel-drive. Consider us jealous.
