Jeep says the Wrangler 4xe Is the best-selling plug-in hybrid in America.

Last year was tough for many automakers, but many are bouncing back in 2021. The Stellantis brandsposted huge sales numbers in the first halfof 2021, and now, the Q2 report indicates a continued trend in the right direction. Between Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, and Alfa Romeo, FCA increased its US sales by 32% compared to 2020. Retail sales increased by 27% in Q2, while fleet sales rose by 12%.

Stellantis should be particularly happy with Jeep, which totaled 210,439 units sold in Q2 2021. This is a 19% year-over-year increase and the second-best quarter Jeep has ever had. The flagship Wrangler remains the best-selling Jeep with 69,020 units in Q2, followed by the Grand Cherokee at 52,726 units.

Stellantis doesn't break down its sales by engine, but it claims the2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xeis now the best-selling plug-in hybrid on the market. We expect Jeep to see further sales increase later this year when the three-row Grand Cherokee L hits dealerships, and the two-row 4xe model makes its debut as Stellantis plans tosell more electrified models.

Dodge saw even more impressive sales gains with a 42% year-over-year increase at 62,314 units sold in Q2 2021. Breaking it down by model, Challenger increased 52%, the Charger by 95%, and the Durango by 53%. Next week, Dodge willreveal a new electric muscle carthat could prompt even more buyers to buy a gas-guzzling V8 before it's too late.

Of all the Stellantis brands in the US, Ram posted the largest sales increases. Ram moved 187,750 units in Q2 2021, a 47% year-over-year increase. Chrysler increased by 36% to 18,900 units, driven by the Pacific Hybrid's best second-quarter ever.

Even Alfa Romeo, which has struggled as of late, posted a 34% year-over-year increase. Sadly, this only amounted to 5,018 units sold in Q2. For reference, the BMW 3 Series sold 7,713 units in the same period, all on its own. And while every other Stellantis brand had something to celebrate, Fiat continues to struggle. The Italian brand only sold 891 units in Q2, a 33% decrease year-over-year.
