Bugatti Baby II Is The World's Finest Toy Car

With its seven-figure price tag and a limited production run, theBugatti Chironis out of reach for most mere mortals. This Bugatti, on the other hand, is much more affordable. To celebrate its 110th anniversary back in 2019, Bugattirevealed the Baby II, a toy car based on the iconicBugatti Type 35racer developed by the Little Car Company. The idea stems from 1926, when Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean built a half-scale replica of the famous racer for Ettore's son Roland's fourth birthday. Nicknamed the Bugatti Baby, 500 examples were built between 1927 and 1936.

While it's aimed at kids, the Baby II is big enough for adults to toy around with. Like the original, only 500 examples will be built, each with bespoke specifications. Since the Baby II was revealed in 2019, the first customer examples have been delivered.

One of the first Bugatti Baby IIs was delivered in Dubai to a long-time Bugatti customer who operates a private jet terminal in the UAE. Finished in a bespoke Jetex Orange, it will be used to transport passengers to VIP sections of the airport. It also features a 2.8 kWh battery pack, an upgraded powertrain, and LED headlights.

Another example was delivered in Belgium to a collector who also owns an original Baby, a Type 35 A, and several pre-war Bugatti cars. Finished in Nocturne Black with a Terre D'or leather interior, this example matches the customer's original Type 35. Available only in rear-wheel drive, every Baby II has an electric powertrain, high performance hydraulic brakes, and selectable driving modes.
