The Shelby Cobra CSX10000 starts from £195,000 and comes with a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 mated to a six-speed manual.

一个fter a 60-year hiatus, you will soon be able to order a brand-new Shelby Cobra in the United Kingdom. Named the Shelby Cobra CSX10000, each vehicle will feature the iconic Cobra silhouette and a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 in two states of tune mated to a 6-speed Tremec manual. As these are certified new models, each one created will be officially recognized by Shelby and recorded in the Cobra Registry.

This great news comes courtesy of Clive Sutton who will be the sole officially-licensed retailer allowed to sell the vehicles in the UK. His name may sound familiar because he was recentlyembroiled in a lawsuit with AC Carsover his use of Cobra and Shelby Cobra monikers. With the backing ofCarroll Shelby Licensing and Superformance, the lawsuit was eventually dropped, now allowing for AC Cobras and Shelby Cobras to be sold in the country.

"It is an immense honor to be the first market globally to receive the Shelby Cobra CSX10000, said Clive Sutton. "As an officially recognized and licensed Shelby Cobra, the car will provide a strong investment opportunity alongside its spine-tingling performance and retro styling."

The first offers naturally aspirated power akin to theFord Mustang GT, producing 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. For how small and light we expect the vehicle to be, we imagine this is right in the sweet spot of not too much and not too little, but if you really want to push boundaries the higher tune is for you.

Thanks to a Whipple twin-screw 3.0-liter supercharger, power on the second version is bumped up to a blistering 700 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. Power like this is either for the highly skilled or truly insane and we imagine the tires will be holding on for dear life to control it all. Speaking of which, the vehicle features 18-inch replica Cobra wheels wearing Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires sized 335/30ZR18 in the rear and 275/35ZR18 in the front.

Stopping power comes courtesy of Wilwood power-assisted 4-pot front brake calipers and the vehicle also features power steering.

The interior is meant to be as true a recreation of the original Shelby Cobras as possible but with modern touches. Dials and gauges are all throwbacks, but you also receive diamond-stitched leather in the color of the buyer's choice to add a personal touch.

Priced at £195,000 ($245,700 at current exchange rates), each model is going to be an exceptionally expensive sportscar throwback. Interestingly, if this model doesn't completely suit you,一个C Cars may have what you want.

Clive Sutton's competitor announced a very similar vehicle in the AC Cobra a few months ago, featuring a six-speed manual and a Coyote V8 in two states of tune. That vehicle appears to offer more modern options like a 10-speed auto and a touchscreen, but it's also down on power compared to the Shelby Cobra and lacks the cachet of Carrol Shelby's name.

Preorders are already open for the 2024 Shelby Cobra CSX10000 with orders first going to the UK before opening up to the US and other markets soon after.
