Aston Martin To Unveil New Sports Cars This Summer

In an earnings call on Wednesday, Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll announced that the company will debut the next generation of vehicles at the capital markets day this summer. This reveal will include its new front-engined models, a fully electric one we've beenhearing about for a while now, and a prototype for a mid-engined sports car that will slot beneath the Valhalla.

"You will see the cars this summer that are going to take us through our combustion story, our hybrid story, and take us through our plans for electrification," Stroll said on the call. "It will be a real clear vision of the journey I've been building for the last three years."

This next generation of vehicles will start with an overhaul of the existing front-engined ones: the Vantage,DBS, and DB11. The company has previously told media that the sports cars will receive such drastic overhaulsas to be like completely new cars, and on the call announced the first one will arrive by the end of this year.

The overhauls will address just about everything, meaning upgrades to the engines, gearboxes, styling, suspension, infotainment systems, and more with as little carryover as possible. Stroll has said in the past that these cars will be upgraded to "what those cars should have always felt like," and won't rely on aging Mercedes tech which is truly welcome news.

Other welcome news will be the debut of the brand's first fully-electric vehicle. The company has said ithas two in the works, one a sports car and another supposedly based on the DBX, with the sports car set to debut in 2025. One will be built in Gaydon, England and the others in St. Athan, Wales.
