Alpina B3 S to Debut Next March at Geneva

Although it's still several months away, Alpina plans to launch their new B3 sedan at the yearly Swiss show.

BMW's so-called official aftermarket tuner, Alpina, will reportedly debut the new B3 sedan next March at the Geneva Motor Show. Based off the current 3 Series, Autocar is claiming that it will come powered by a revised 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with around 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque available from only 1,300rpm. The initial market plan is to offer the next B3 as a sedan only but expect to see coupe, station wagon and convertible versions arrive in the coming years.

Compared to the standard 3 sedan, the B3 will feature unique wheels, a front lip spoiler, restyled lower front bumper, quad exhaust tips and a trunk spoiler. Rear-wheel-drive will come standard and all-wheel drive will later be an option on all body styles with the exception of the convertible. BMW hasn't decided whether to offer AWD on the latter just yet. Alpina is also planning a new diesel version to be called once again the D3, but that won't launch until sometime in late 2013 or even in 2014.
