A 1,000HP Genesis Coupe is Coming to SEMA

SEMA 2013 /49岁的评论

Ten years ago, who would have thought a Hyundai would have this much power?

For many of us, it's hard to believe that an automaker like Hyundai is capable of building something with 1,000 horsepower. This is a far cry from all of those little econoboxes that filled Hyundai showrooms for many years. Today's Hyundai is very different, and partly thanks to models like the Genesis and Genesis Coupe, the South Korean brand has put itself on the high-performance map. Now Hyundai has announced that it has partnered up with Bisimoto Engineering for a project that will surely boost its profile even further.

The two have created a 1,000 hp Genesis Coupe that will be revealed at the 2013 SEMA Show this November in Las Vegas. Starting off with the naturally aspirated Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec v6, Bisimoto did its part by adding twin turbochargers, new connecting rods, camshafts, forged pistons, fuel pump and fuel injectors, and an intercooler, amongst several other add-ons. Painted in Electric Blue paint, the car also features a unique design graphics package, a carbon fiber hood and decklid. There's also a stainless steel exhaust, a roll cage and a coilover suspension. More details and photos are expected as we get closer to SEMA.
