Fifteen Eleven Design has finally delivered the Porsche 914 restomod two years after it was announced.

Fifteen Eleven Design has unveiled its bespoke Porsche 914 restomod two years afterthe project was first announced. As promised, the build is brought to life with a 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer enginefrom its spiritual successor, the 987 Cayman S, enhanced with steel internals, forged pistons, and steel rods.

The retained-but-stiffened 914 chassis received T45 tubular chassis structural reinforcement and new pickup points to enable it to inherit Boxster components. Meshing old and new, the 914 restomod features a Life Racing ECU and power management system. In turn, the Targa-topped roadster restomod produces between 380 and 400 horsepower - nearly quadruple the power originally found in the 914/6 chassis.

As a side note, the original engine achieved over 200 hpin the race-ready914/6 GT. It notably won the GT class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970. Still, the Fifteen Eleven car has double that.

The 3.8-liter engine puts its power down through a Cayman-based suspension architecture with WRC-derived Reiger three-way adjustable coilover shock absorbers. For the uninitiated, Fifteen Eleven Design is the classic and prestige arm of WRC team Mellors Elliot Motorsports, which secured 12 FIA WRC titles.

The suspension architecture is linked to 18-inch Fuchs wheels with Brembo four-piston brake calipers and cross-drilled, vented discs. Another WRC-sourced component found in the build is the bespoke fuel cell with an FIA-compliant bladder.

The performance equipment list includes carbon fiber body panels, a six-speed manual gearbox, a fly-by-wire throttle, a stainless steel exhaust system, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Aesthetically, the English firm has given the 914 a carbon fiber widebody kit, modern projector LED headlamps, "Moby Dick" style driving lights, and a revamped front bumper and hood.

The bulkhead and fuel tank package is redesigned to provide extra legroom in the cabin, where you'll discover Recaro sports seats, a bespoke leather interior, and a wooden Fifteen Eleven gear knob.

"The Fifteen Eleven Design Porsche 914 has taken longer than we expected but it's not an exaggeration to say that we have strived and delivered perfection in every area of the build; that of course takes time," said Ben Mellors, managing director of Fifteen Eleven Design. "We have had a huge interest in the car to date, but finally being able to unveil it to the public is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. It's been a passion of the entire team, and I believe that shows within every inch of the car."

Available in left-hand and right-hand drive, the Fifteen Eleven Design Porsche 914 starts at £350,000 - roughly $440,000 at current exchange rates. To get similar power from a modern Boxster, the718 BoxsterGTS 4.0 will set you back $97,300 in return for its 396 hp.
