Those large screens just got a lot more useful.

Mercedes-Benz is rolling out its second generation of MBUX with new entertainment and navigation functions to more than 700,000 vehicles globally. These features, such as selfie cameras, TikTok, and Zoom calls, build upon the already impressive technology from the Superscreen that debuted on the2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan.

We've never been enamored by the passenger display on the Hyperscreen and Superscreen, mainly because they can't be used without a passenger in the front seat, but these added features like YouTube will make it more useful on a road trip. Passengers can now select their own audio to play from the screen without using headphones. They can opt to send their chosen media to the in-cabin sound system. Additionally, they can select a Personal Decorative Image via theMercedes meconnect app that will show up on the passenger screen. Previously, passengers were limited to looking at pre-selected backgrounds from Mercedes.

All of these additions should improve the already cutting-edge features in the MBUX system.
