2024 Ford Bronco Sport Loses Some Of Our Favorite Colors

Cyber Orange and Area 51 are among the discontinued paint options.

TheFord Bronco Sportis entering its fourth model year and has received several changes to keep it fresh and appealing. Aside from thevibrant Free Wheeling special editionand the sinister Black Appearance Package, Ford has added two new colors to the palette: Azure Grey and Desert Sand.

While this provides consumers with new hues, Ford has removed four exterior colors for the Bronco Sport, reducing the number of options available. The configurator for the 2024 model shows that Alto Blue Metallic, Cyber Orange Metallic, and Area 51 are no longer available on the compact crossover.

Aside from that, the limited-productionBronco Heritage Limited Edition rangeis off the menu, which means customers won't be able to get Peak Blue or Yellowstone paintwork on their Bronco Sport for 2024.

Interestingly, Ford also chose todiscontinue four colorsfor the 2024 Maverick. Among the culled shades were Alto Blue and Area 51. Cyber Orange, a vivid and appealing color, was also one of the axed hues. It was removed from the Mustang Mach-E and Ranger palettes, too, so it's clearly not that popular.

Still, buyers shouldn't fret too much. There are still ten available colors on the Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands trim levels. This includes bright colors such as Eruption Green Metallic and Hot Pepper Red Tinted Clearcoat, funky finishes like Desert Sand and Cactus Grey, and more sober options like Carbonized Grey Metallic and Shadow Black.

We anticipate the Bronco Sport will receive a more substantial facelift for the 2025 model year. Perhaps we will see even more changes made to the color palette.

Apart from that, nothing else has changed for the 2024 model year. Budget-conscious buyers may be disappointed that the Bronco Sport Base has been discontinued. The range now starts with the $31,230 Big Bend derivative, raising the entry price by around $2,000.

We suspected the Base would be discontinued. In November 2022, the Base was quietly dropped from Ford's website, with a message simply stating the model was "not currently available." It was priced at $29,215 at the time, but now buyers must fork out considerably more to get behind the wheel of an entry-level 2024 model.

The Bronco Sport will stick around for many years and is expected toretain its existing platform until 2030. Even though there's pressure to offer more affordable electric vehicles, the baby Bronco will remain an ICE-powered vehicle until the end of the decade, until it's eventually replaced.
