Ford Bronco Sport Free Wheeling Special Edition Channels Its 1970s Heritage

Order books for the 2024Ford Bronco Sportare officially open. To coincide with the new model year, the Blue Oval has introduced a funky Free Wheeling special edition that harks back to a colorful package offered in the 1970s.

The new Bronco Free Wheeling pays tribute to these models with its vibrant hood, side, and liftgate decals. Reflective red, orange, and yellow stripes lend the baby Bronco plenty of visual excitement and work well with the retro styling. The Free Wheeling edition benefits from a silver-painted grille and a revised insert on the front bumper, while a Shadow Black roof tones down the vivid color scheme. Finally, the 17-inch gloss black wheels receive red accents, adding an extra pop of color.

Inside, the fun continues with sunset-colored seat inserts and ombre stitching on the black fabric upholstery. The door cards also receive a pop of color thanks to red trimmings.

The Bronco Sport Free Wheeling special edition is based on the Big Bend and therefore receives the same equipment levels and drivetrain as this trim. The 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine sends 181 horsepower to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for this model starts from $33,730, placing it in the middle of the range in terms of affordability.

"Bronco customers appreciate its heritage," said Jason Hyde, Marketing Manager for the Bronco Sport. "After such a great response to the reimagined Bronco Sport Free Wheeling project vehicle in 2021, we decided to bring this special edition that ties Bronco Sport to its fun-loving roots," he added. Last year, the automaker introduceda Black Diamond Off-Road Packageto the Bronco Sport, introducing several styling add-ons, four bash plates, and all-terrain tires.
