Considering all the improvements, it's good value.
The2023 Kia Sportagemade its debut in America last October. It arrived with acompletely fresh design, a much larger body that results in superb interior space, and anew plug-in hybrid modelwith an all-electric range of over 30 miles. Having年代tarted production right here in Georgiajust weeks ago, Kia has now shared official pricing for the new Sportage.
The many improvements to the new Sportage mean that it's more expensive than the current model. The 2023 model begins at $25,990 for the front-wheel-drive LX, an increase of $1,900 compared with the equivalent 2022 model. However, some trims are actually cheaper than before.
Following the LX is the EX at $27,990 ($400 less than the 2022 EX), the X-Line at $30,790, the SX at $31,490, and the SX-Prestige at $33,490. Finally, the lineup is topped by the all-wheel-drive X-Pro at $34,990 and the X-Pro Prestige at $36,790, more capable trims for the adventurous customer.
Upgrading to AWD on the LX, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige will cost $1,800. Kia has not yet revealed pricing for the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, but the latter is likely to cost more. All prices exclude a destination charge of $1,215.
The 2023 Sportage has almost exactly the same base price as the 2022Hyundai Tucsonwhich starts at $25,500 but is a bit cheaper than the 2022 Toyota RAV4 which starts at $26,525. Considering that the Tucson PHEV starts at $34,900, we can expect the Sportage PHEV to have a similar price tag.
The 2023 Sportage EX can be optioned with the EX Panoramic Sunroof package at $1,000, while the X-Line Premium package for the X-Line costs $1,500. This adds the sunroof, LED interior lighting, a smart power liftgate, and illuminated dual vanity mirrors. Finally, premium paint costs $395.
The non-hybrid Sportage comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. With 41.3 inches of rear legroom and 39.6 cubic feet of cargo space, the new Sportage is a highly practical crossover in this segment. An eight-inch touchscreen interface is standard, but upper trims have a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation as well as a 12.3-inch TFT cluster display. Lane following assist, high-beam assist, rear parking sensors, and driver attention warning are among the standard safety features. Gas-only Sportages will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022 in the US.
