2021 Lexus LC 500 Arrives With Some Important Upgrades

The first2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertiblewas alreadysold at auction for charity, bringing in $2 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Bob Woodruff Foundation charities. But now Lexus has announced the 2021 model year updates for theLC 500coupe and the LC 500h hybrid. There is still no word on pricing for the convertible but the 2021 LC 500 coupe pricing remains the same as last year at $92,950 or $97,510 for the hybrid.

Although the cars don't look drastically different on the outside, there are a number of changes under the skin and inside the cabin. We are happy to report than the LC 500's wonderful 5.0-liter V8 producing 471 horsepower remains completely unchanged while the hybrid model uses a 3.5-liter V6 producing 354 horsepower.

While the engines remain intact, Lexus has reduced unsprung weight by around 22 pounds, which should make the LC more nimble through the corners. Lexus has also adjusted the electronic absorber controls adjusted, optimized the bound stopper rigidity, and increased the rear stabilizer rigidity to provide smoother, softer suspension stroke and improve turn-in. Active Cornering Assist has been added a new feature and both cars receive transmission logic changes for improved shift times and enhanced response in the 50 to 70-percent throttle range.
