But it won't debut until the New York Auto Show next month.

Hyundai may havepulled out of the Geneva Motor Show this year,但这并没有阻止rean automaker from revealing a new model. Ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show next month, Hyundai has lifted the wraps off the all-new 2020 Sonata. Boasting anew sleek design, its four-door coupe body style harks back to the sixth-generation model from 2009.

The 2020 Sonata also clearly takes its cues from thestunning Le Fil Rouge concept that debuted at the 2018 Geneva Motor Showand is the first production model to embody Hyundai's Sensuous Sportiness design concept, with a short overhang, sloping roofline, and low deck lid. With a 1.1-inch lower height and a width extended by 0.9 inches, the 2020 Hyundai Sonata looks a lot sportier than its predecessor. Its wheelbase is enlarged by 1.3 inches, while the car is 1.7 inches longer.

At the front, the 2020 Sonata's daytime running lights are embedded with Hidden Lighting Lamps from theHDC-2 concept car introduced at last year's Busan Motor Showfor the first time in a production car, which "appear to be of a chromic material when switched off and become dramatically lit when turned on" to serve as DLRs. A long hood, low stance, sleek roofline, and wide taillights combine to create a very attractive-looking sedan.

Inside, the interior has also been given a significant overhaul. The compressed height of the dashboard and HVAC give the cabin a clean and sleek look. Hyundai says it isn't a fan of "distracting large screens featured in many luxury cars." As a result, Hyundai has seamlessly blended the infotainment and center-gauge cluster displays together using a unique S curve. Shift-by-wire transmission controls also free up storage space.

No powertrain details have been released yet, but we should find out more when the redesigned sedan debuts at the 2019 New York Auto Show next month. Sales of the new 2020 Sonata will start worldwide in the second half of the year.
