After showing off its1,000-hp Camaro Convertible, Specialty Vehicle Engineering has turned its attention to theChevrolet Colorado. Say hello to the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme, a modern-day homage to the popularChevrolet S-10Xtreme sports truck from the 1990s.

Available for crew cab or extended cab models, the Colorado Xtreme is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 cranked up to 455 horsepower and 425 ft-lb of torque, which utilizes SVE's in-house developed centrifugal supercharger with a unique head unit that features a planetary drive assembly as opposed to a traditional gear drive assembly that can spin up to 90,000 rpm with no supercharger whine.

This eliminates power lag, providing smooth drivability and a linear power band that increases power all the way up to 6,400 rpm. SVE's air-to-water intercooler system also minimizes heat soak to maintain optimal power at all times. Other upgrades include a composite Xtreme engine cover, body-color painted fog lamp surrounds with body-color painted grille and black bowtie emblem, a custom dual exhaust, and reworked suspension lowers the Colorado Xtreme by two inches at the front and five inches at the rear.

The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme rides on 20-inch five-spoke wheels available in satin black or gloss black wrapped in Michelin 275/45R20 Pilot Sport PS2S performance tires.

Inside, the front headrests feature embroidered red Xtreme logos and there are also premium floor mats in black or cocoa dune with the Xtreme logo. Optional upgrades include a heavy-duty sway bar, heavy-duty traction bars and bushings, a folding black tonneau cover, and a custom seat trim package for the front and rear seats that complement the two factory interior colors.

Only 100 limited-edition 2020 Chevrolet Colorado trucks will be built. Pricing hasn't been announced, but the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado with the 3.6-liter V6 starts at $27,380 with the extended cab and $29,280 for the crew cab.
