0-62 mph now takes just 3.4 seconds.

German tuner ABT Sportsline is on a roll right now. After giving theAudi RS6 AvantandAudi RS7supercar levels of performance with the limited-edition RS6-R andRS7-R, the tuner is wasting no time giving thenew Audi S8, which was redesigned for the 2020 model year, a massive power boost to fill the void of a hardcore Audi RS8 or a new Audi S8 Plus.

In stock form, the luxury performance sedan's potent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 571 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, enabling the S8 to sprint from 0-62 mph in a brisk 3.8 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 155 mph.

This was already a respectable increase over the last-generation model's 520 hp and 481 lb-ft figures, but ABT has taken it to the next level. By tuning the ECU, ABT has managed to extract 700 hp from the 2020 Audi S8, making it the next best thing to a full-fat RS8. Torque has also increased to 649 lb-ft.

With these upgrades, the 2020 Audi S8 will now accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds, which is impressive considering the Audi S8 weighs a whopping 2.3 tonnes. When equipped with ceramic brakes, top speed increases to 167 mph.

To complement the performance upgrades, ABT has enhanced the exterior without ruining the S8's elegant, understated appearance. A subtle carbon fiber spoiler has been added to the rear and the modified S8 can be fitted with a set of 20- or 21-inch custom five-spoke wheels finished in black with contrasting diamond-machined outlines. The wheels are also available in matt black with an entirely diamond-machined finish. Inside, the subtle upgrades continue with ABT branding applied to the start-stop switch cap and gear shift cover.

Pricing for ABT's upgrade hasn't been announced, but the regular 2020 Audi S8 starts at $129,500.
