The NHTSA is 'working really fast' on its investigation into Tesla Autopilot crashes. "We're investing a lot of resources," said acting chief Ann Carlson.
The NHTSA is reviewing whether Teslas adequately ensure drivers are paying attention. It previously suggested most drivers involved in crashes had seen their car's emergency alert.
首席执行官艾伦•马斯克拉伊sed eyebrows on Twitter in December after a tweet from an owner suggested that the FSD system should be able to run without the 'steering wheel nag.' Musk agreed.
The NHTSA is also investigating crashes with parked emergency vehicles. In October 2022, the Justice Department launched its own probe into Autopilot crashes.
Hopefully, the NHTSA will have conclusions on its numerous investigations. Moreover, we hope that stricter regulation arrives. Until then, it's a game of roulette on the roads.
For Tesla, the sooner this federal investigation ends, the sooner it can focus on its facelift for the Model 3, its launch of the Cybertruck, and its rollout of the Semi.
