With a goal to have 80% of all new Porsche models electrified by 2030, the Macan EV is just the beginning of the German manufacturer's journey toward alternative fuel sources.
The Macan EV will boast an impressive 603 horsepower and over 738 lb-ft of torque in top configuration, giving it supercar-levels of output.
Engineers redesigned the double-wishbone front suspension to handle the power. It will be combined with the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system and a two-valve shock absorber.
The Macan EV will launch with a state-of-the-art 800-volt battery that can recharge from 5% to 80% in just 25 minutes. Range estimates will be revealed soon.
We don't know exactly when the Macan EV will show its face officially, but the SUV is scheduled to hit showrooms before the end of 2024.
Porsche is charging full steam ahead towards making its cars completely powered by alternative energies. The Macan EV will be a monumental step and it'll only be the beginning.
