You Won't Be Surprised By What Nissan Is Planning For The Next Juke

Rumor /12 Comments

It'll still probably look weird.

The Nissan Juke isthe surprise success crossoverthat few expected and even fewer figured would spawn so many competitors. Nissan was clearly onto something back in 2010 when it launched the funky-looking Juke, and it's enjoyed massive success with it ever since. But that was nearly seven years ago and the Juke is aging fast and the competition has caught up.So what is next for that bug-eyed car? According to a report from Autocar, the next generation Juke that's currently in development is being engineered for an all-electric version.

The Nissan Leaf, for example, is built on its own unique EV platform but the director of Nissan's zero-emission business unit, Gareth Dunsmore, told Autocar that his company are "leaders in crossovers and a leader with Leaf and we will combine those two in the future." Makes sense. Also remember that Kia, offers an EV version of its popular Soul crossover, a direct competitor to the Juke. No word just yet on when the next Juke will launch and we also don't know whether the likely EV variant will be available from the get-go or will come out at a later date.
