You Can No Longer Get A Ford F-150 Rattler

Industry News /2 Comments

Unless you already have one ordered.

According to Ford Truck Communications Manager Dawn McKenzie, the2023 Ford F-150Rattler is officially sold out for the year. As a reminder, the Rattler is anew trim level introduced last yearas a low-budget off-road truck. It's not Raptor in terms of capability, but the Rattler'slow package costof just $1,495 was sure to make it desirable. On a low-trim truck, you could order one for as little as $42,690.

As it turns out, too many people were interested in the F-150 Rattler because of the extreme value, and it's no longer listed on Ford's online configurator. In fact, the 2024 Rattler was sold out before the F-150 switched from the 2022 to 2023 model year. The package included 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a dual exhaust system, and rattlesnake graphic, an off-road-tuned suspension, and skid plates.

If you want to get close to the Rattler, you can still opt for the FX4 Off-Road Package ($1,095). This adds an electronic locking rear axle, decals, skid plates, and similar suspension upgrades. F-150 shoppers who crave even more off-road performance canupgrade to the Tremor, but it has a considerably higher price of $60,970. Beyond that, the Raptor costs $76,775 and the Raptor R adds another $30,575 to get a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 with 700 horsepower.

Looking at the remaining off-road trim levels in the F-150 lineup, it's easy to see why the Rattler was so appealing for the price.

If you want a Rattler, there's still a chance you can find one on a dealership lot, but you won't be able to order one exactly how you want it. It's unclear if Ford plans to produce more to satisfy demand, but we imagine order books will reopen when the 2024 MY changeover takes place later this year.

Until then, F-150 buyers will have to be satisfied by the FX4 or one of Ford's other available appearance packages.
