Wild Triple-Turbo Setup Is Unlike Any We've Ever Seen

This Holden Commodore wagon with a compound triple turbo setup is simply wild.

Aussie car builder Keep It Reet recently made one of the craziest Holden Commodores we've seen. It's a multiple-turbo setup unlike anything we've encountered before.

Australians love tuning cars as much as the next guy; that's why we've seen awesome modified cars from Down Under, like the2JZ-Powered Silviathat raced against an LS-swapped Holden Commodore. Those are monstrous brutes, but this one we're discussing is beastly for other reasons.

For starters, the Commodore gets a weird three-turbo setup that towers above the engine bay like the lopsided horns of a bull. Meanwhile, the engine is an RB30 that was ripped off from a donor Nissan. It also gets an intercooler and an anti-lag system like those fancyToyota Formula Drift cars.

Other than that, it looks like an Australian domestic market Commodore VL wagon with an all-stock interior and not many other modifications.

The turbo setup itself, while ridiculous, appears well put together. It's fairly complex, too, since they manage to conjure a way for all three turbos to supply each other with air. They made a compound turbo setup that contrasts the sequential tri-turbo engines of the oldBMW 5 SeriesM55d sold from 2012 to 2017.

On usual compound builds, a larger low-pressure snail will feed a smaller high-pressure turbo since the output hole of the larger unit should ideally match the inlet size of the other. The latter is crucial for optimal pressure transfer.

Theforced inductionsetup these mad Aussies built did the reverse. We don't know if it makes big power since they drove it on public roads. But at least it sounds great and even spits out flames. Then again, they ran into an overheating issue which they funnily addressed by filling its radiator with a bucket of water.

Obviously, this wasn't a serious project. It was instead made in the spirit of fun, just like the ridiculously low Fiat that was nothing more than acar roof on wheels. Plus, the triple turbo build isn't complete yet, so that they might have more plans for this crazy Commodore.
