WATCH: Rivian R1T Pulls Stuck Heavy Machinery Out Of A Ditch

The 835-horsepower quad-motor with a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs delivered.

TheRivian R1Tsure is one capable EV as proven by a video posted earlier this year where thepickup truck pulled a38,000-pound semi-truck that slid off the road. Now, we are getting another incredible towing action. This time, the R1T pulled a heavy machinery truck from a sloping road.

Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe shared the display of performance on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The caption only says a crane emoji and "Thanks to M. Isaac!" But based on the yellow brake calipers in the vertical video, this particular EV truck should be the quad-motor variant.

With that being said, the EV probably used all of its 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque to pull that truck off the downhill. We are unsure how much the heavy machinery truck weighs, but the number should be way past the model's towing capacity of 11,000 lbs.

To make it sound more impressive, theGMC Hummer EVcan only tow up to 8,500 lbs, while the Ford F-150 Lightning has a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs. The Tesla Cybertruck may offer more at 14,000 lbs, but Scaringe said theupcoming Tesla EV truck is not a concernfor his company. He believes the R1T and Cybertruck can succeed instead of winning the race from one's failure.

Rivian's impressive quad-motor powertrain was also put to a differenttest on the Rubicon Trail.R1T SUV的兄弟R1S, completed the trail using stock tires and a few off-road modifications - making it the first production EV to do so.

While the performance of Rivian EVs is undeniably impressive, we don't recommend towing loads heavier than the capacity. It can be a battery-draining task, which becomes problematic in remote areas. Some instances may even result in the voiding of warranty. Let's just say the owner of the R1T that pulled the heavy machinery did it, so you don't have to.
