Watch Ken Block's 1,400-HP Mustang Hoonicorn Destroy World's Fastest Donk

It's a massacre.

When most normal people think of motorsports, terms like "Nascar" and "Formula One" spring to mind, but as we all know, there are hundreds of different ways in which cars can compete on the track. Two such forms are the classic arts of drag racing and drifting. These styles of competing rarely cross paths, but when they do it usually turns out to be something quite special. Hoonigan recently teamed up with drifting legend Ken Block, the driver behind insane videos such asTerrakhana, for a special drag race series where Ken drives his highly modifiedFord Mustang"Hoonicorn" againstall sorts of competitors. In the most recent video, one of the world's fastest "Donks" takes on the Hoonicorn. These cars are utterly pointless but canget down the stripif they have to.

The car going up against Ken's Hoonicorn is a 1971 Chevy Impala "Donkmaster Z06". Donk cars are usually sedans from the 70s up to the 90s that roll on 30-inch rims, sometimes even larger. This Donk is powered by a single turbo V8 engine producing 1,500 horsepower and weighs in at 5,000 lbs. Power is sent to the rear via an FTI automatic transmission.

The Hoonicorn on the other hand packs a 1,400-hp twin-turbo V8 powerplant, an all-wheel-drive system, and a six-speed sequential transmission. It weighs in at 2,998 pounds. The Hoonicorn clearly has the advantage on paper.

As the cars are given the go, the Donkmaster jumps the light and gets a head start, but that means little, as the Hoonicorn almost immediately jumps in front of it and continues to pull to the end. The Donkmaster struggles for traction and gives up halfway down the track. The second run is much the same: the Donkmaster gets a better launch, and hooks up past the 60-ft mark, but the Hoonicorn brings the pain and gaps it by a mile. The third run is a rolling start, but the end result is just as predictable. Everyone knows that donk cars are a joke. On and off the track.
