Watch A Pro Golfer Hit A Ball Into Speeding BMW M8 From 300 Yards

There are some pretty unusual Guinness World Records out there. In February, Chinese automaker Geely set the record for thelargest car mosaicin the world. Also in 2021, Kia set aGuinness World Recordfor the 'Most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launching fireworks simultaneously' as part of the reveal of its new logo. While it's easy for us to sit at home on our sofas and scoff at these "silly" achievements, they do take a considerable amount of time, coordination, and planning. Someone who now knows this to be true is professional golfer Marcus Armitage but what kind of Guinness World Record could a golfer and a BMW M8 Competition Convertible possibly set?

The challenge was to set the record for the 'Farthest golf shot caught in a moving car'. The record to beat was 273 yards, a distance set back in 2012. Obviously, this record attempt not only requires a perfect swing from Armitage - the BMW driver also has to try to use the car's considerable power to keep pace with the trajectory of the ball, or to hit the brakes hard if he overshoots it.
