Vette-Powered BRZ by Weapons Grade

一个merican muscle and Japanese ingenuity combine with clinical effect.

Connecticut-based tuning house Weapons Grade Performance loves everything about the Subaru BRZ. Apart from its "gutless" boxer engine that is. So as soon as humanly possible, it switched out the 2.0-liter four-pot for a 6.0-liter V8 LS2 unit from a Pontiac GTO combined with parts from different LS engines. For example, the air conditioning condenser is from a Cadillac CTS-V and the Pontiac G8's intake has been utilized. Aside from massaging the transmission tunnel, the engine swap was seamless without the need for hacking up the engine bay.

The tuner also added reworked carbon ceramics from the ZR1 and a KW coilover suspension. The V8-swapped BRZ started as a pet project, but for $3,000 Weapons Grade Performance is offering a basic kit including motor mounts, driveshaft and clutch master cylinder. So BRZ drivers can hit the road with Corvette power. And for $9,000 they'll throw in exhaust and cooling systems and whatever else you need save for the engine and tranny. If 400 hp isn't enough then hold tight as there's plans to work a supercharged LS9 into the BRZ. Weapons Grade is working on a Z06-style hood to accommodate the supercharger and if all goes well they'll have a 638hp BRZ.
