This Porsche 911 GT1 Is A $12.3 Million Gold Mine

The Ultra-rare GT1 Strassenversion is worth a fortune and with good reason.

In today's world, it seems like there's anew hypercarevery day, and even those are starting to seem a little dull whenelectric cars make them look slow. Still, their gorgeous design and absurd impracticality still hold a certain appeal to the enthusiast, but one can't help but think that things were better in the old days. Now, we have cars faster than some light aircraft, but they lack engagement; you can't build a connection with them. That's why classic supercars are worth more than just what their engines can produce, and when the supercar in question has true racing heritage, its value is almost unquantifiable. One such car is thePorsche 911GT1 Strassenversion, and it's worth a packet.

Sadly, we only have two photographs of the example we're talking about, but our archives can fill in the missing pieces. The car you see above is a 1998 model located in Tokyo, Japan. The pristine white GT1 has only covered 489 miles and it's for sale through James Edition. That's barely 21 miles per year, and with a black interior, it likely looks as good as new inside too. So what's it worth? The listing currently works out to $12,261,624.72, or A LOT in simple terms.

To put the serious inflation of special supercars in perspective, you need only look at the ex-racing GT1 Evo that was on auctionback in 2016. Despite being even rarer than the car that is for sale today, it only sold for $3.1 million back then. We're not offering any investment advice, but the GT1 looks like it'll continue to climb in value as time goes by and cars become more digital. If you have the means, this GT1 can be bought using Bitcoin to make the transaction a little simpler. Obviously, you'll then have to have the car shipped here, but since its steering wheel is on the left, that shouldn't be too much of a concern.
