This Is When The Chevy Silverado EV Will Arrive

TheChevrolet Silverado EVmight be a little late to the electric pickup truck party with theRivian R1Tmaking deliveries now and the Ford Lightning coming next year. But we now have an official timing for production thanks to Doug Parks, GM's executive vice president for global product development, purchasing and supply chain. He made the remarks at Deutsche Bank's AutoTech Conference taking place Thursday and Friday.

"You'll see in '22, of course, the Hummer SUV will launch," said Parks. "The Cadillac Lyriq will launch. And then very soon after that, you'll start to seethe Silverado E, the Sierra and then there's a couple of other vehicles we're going to talk about at the CES show that we'll also launch in '23." When pressed by the interviewer he added, "That is going to be early 2023."

We'll get ourfirst look at the Ultium-powered pickupthis January at CES, where CEO Mary Barra will give the keynote address. Parks also spoke on the rest of the market, specifically calling out their range.

"And by the way, we believe EV life starts at 300 miles of range, not 200 or 250. We've been there. We've done that. I think when you really start to get mass adoption, people interested, it's got to start with the three. So that's why Ultium packs will deliver 300, 350, 400, 450 plus miles of range, not 200 or 250, starting at 300," said Parks.
