This Is As Subtle As A 1,000-HP Muscle Car Could Ever Hope To Be

Jay Leno drives the tire-shredding Ring Brothers Chevelle.

A lot of the cars that get shown at SEMA are done almost entirely for shock value. They attract attention to a given brand or tuner, but aren't really meant to ever actually be driven. That's part of what makes this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle built by the Ring Brothers (dubbed "Recoil") so special. The car is made to be driven, and driven very quickly at that. The car produces nearly 1,000 horsepower from its LS7 V8 engine with what must be a sizable Whipple supercharger bolted to it.

Jay gives us the first really in depth look at the car, including taking it out for a drive. The sound made by the supercharger makes the video worth watching all by itself.
