This Custom Chevrolet Wagon Is Hot-Rodding Done Right

This cool-looking hotrod, on sale through Barrett-Jackson, is a recently finished project, and by the looks of things, not a cent has been spared in making this thing look better than the day it rolled off the factory floor. The exterior of this slick wagon features a period-correct two-tone paint job with a modern twist. The Deep Red matches perfectly with the Silver, and the swathes of body panels are neatly broken up by original chrome details. The car rolls on a set of low-profile tires wrapped around alloys that also fit into the period, but with some modern flash. According to the seller, the body panel fitment is excellent, and the glass is in perfect condition.

Inside the vast cabin of this 1956 Chevy Wagon, the owner fitted the dash out of a 1959 model, and it looks spot-on. The entire interior has been redone and now features luxurious tan leather upholstery. Even the headliner has been redone in tan, and the dashboard shows off a set of brand new gauges and vents. Under the hood, this hot wagon hides a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 engine mated to a 4L60 automatic transmission with a Ford 9-inch rear end. With all that power under the right foot, it's good to know that the car also comes with a new set of four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, and rack-and-pinion steering.
