These 100-Strong Car Collections In Malaysia Go Big On Rarity And Variety

Video /3 Comments

The car culture in Malaysia is massive, and so are these collections.

Most car nuts know that some of the fanciest car collections are found either in the United States or Europe. But did you know that Malaysia is also home to some bonkers collections? Two of these were recently featured byDino DCon YouTube, and while very different from each other, each has some unique rarities that any car fanatic will want to see.

Before listing off some rare cars, though, note that these are probably Malaysia's largest private car collections. The absolute size of these collections is massive, and one of the two has such a wild variety ranging from American hot rods to movie cars. As such, we'll be keeping this list brief, focusing on stand-out models.

The first collection Dino visited is from a car importing company called Bespoke. It has eye-poppers like theLamborghini Huracan STO, Ferraris, and Porsches. In addition, a special feature in this collection is one of the only three RUF R GT units ever made. This one from manufacturerRUF Automobileis the only R GT with Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox.

Dino spotted two right-hand-drive (RHD) examples of theMercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMGwithin the same collection. Only 100 of these were made, and only 40 came in RHD. Other interesting cars in this location include an Ariel Atom and a rare Ferrari 488 Pista.

The second collection Dino showcased, which goes by JPM, is much larger and more extensive. As mentioned above, it includes movie cars from blockbuster hits like the James Bond series,Gone in 60 Seconds, the Delorean fromBack to the Future, and aHerbieBeetle.

This collection is so extensive that it feels like a museum. There's a section forJapanese Domestic Market carswith rides like the Autozam AZ1 and a mint-condition Mitsubishi GTO, which has become very rare in the region. There's also a Porsche section with a separate room for the air-cooled era cars, a non-hot-rodded classic car section, an Italian corner, and a section that only displays various generations of theFord Mustang.

Out of all these vehicles, a perfect example of the Benz Patent Motor Car is probably the most historically significant as the first automobile ever made. The best part is the car still runs.

Other notable cars in the JPM collection are a 2003 Nissan GT-R R34 Falken, which ran the 24 Hours of Nurburgring back in 2004, an original Lamborghini Countach, an ultra-rare Lamborgini Diablo SE 6.0-liter, a Morgan Arrow 8, and a Jaguar XK 120, to mention just a few.

As Dino said in the video, Malaysian car culture is mind-blowing. The collections, especially JPM's, are on another level. For this much diversity and rarity on US soil, you'd have to look at something like the stable of carsowned by fashion designer Ralph Lauren.
