The first customer car will be shown at the end of this month.

With its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 301 horsepower 332 lb-ft of torque, the newMini John Cooper Works GPis the mostpowerful road-going Mini ever made, while the aggressive, aerodynamically-optimized styling makes it feel at home on a race track. If, however, you prefer the classic styling of the original Mini, there's a new, retro-inspired alternative to the John Cooper Works GP.

Back in 2019, David Auto Brown Automotive unveiled theMini Remastered Oselli Edition, a track-focused version of theregular Mini Remasteredrestomod.

Built in Silverstone, UK, the Oselli Edition is now almost ready for production. Only 60 examples will be made, with the first hand-built models arriving at the end of April. David Brown teamed up with renowned racing specialist Oselli to increase the engine capacity to 1,450 cc and add twin SU carburetors, resulting in an increased output of over 100 horsepower.

That may sound paltry, but the Oselli Edition is 40 percent more powerful than the original Mini. This unit is paired with a five-speed gearbox. Other performance enhancements include uprated braking and suspension components to help the car cope with the extra power, along with larger and wider 13-inch wheels.

Inside, the track-focused Mini Remastered can be ordered with two or four seats. The two-seat version features sporty bucket seats, a rollcage, and a four-point harness.

"We are very pleased to have the first examples of Mini Remastered, Oselli Edition almost ready to hit the road - or the racetrack," said Michelle Gay, Sales & Marketing Director at David Brown Automotive.

"Alongside our engineering partner, Oselli, we are committed to making sure this performance version of Mini Remastered is the complete package, so alongside challenges around the pandemic, this model has been in planning for longer than usual, but only to allow us to perfect the ultimate race-ready city car package. This car is truly in a class of its own as a fun and spirited small car that can be enjoyed around town in the week, and then taken to the track at the weekend offering customers true versatility."

Pricing for the four-seater version starts at £98,000 ($127,137), while the two-seater version will set you back £108,000 ($133,498). David Brown will announce more configuration options and performance specifications for the Mini Remastered Oselli Edition in May after work on the first customer car is completed at the end of April.
