The Tesla Model Y Is Ready To Go Off-Road

Tesla cars are well known for their excellent electric range andblistering performanceon track, but few haveventured off the beaten track. With the introduction of theModel Y, Tesla took a few steps in the right direction, but the majority of these cars will never see a dirt road. Until now. Electric vehicle tuning specialists Unplugged Performance has recently announced its newly developed off-road package for the Model Y, and it couldn't come at a better time. With winter upon us, Tesla has announced a tire and wheel package of its own for the Model Y (see picture below) in preparation for slippery road conditions.

Unplugged Performance, based in Hawthorne, California specializes in performance products forall Tesla models, with the main focus on on-road performance, but it's newly released dirt and snow coilover suspension kit for the Tesla Model Y is directly aimed at those who want to go off-roading.

The kit is composed of a custom-designed coilover suspension system offering over four inches of lift. The kit has been designed to retain the Model Y's excellent on-road performance while increasing the ground clearance of the car for serious off-road action. The kit costs $2,495 and Unplugged Performance promises no compromises or drawbacks.
