The Already Bonkers Fast Zenos E10 Is Receiving Even More Power

We've long been fans of simple, one- or two-seat lightweight purist track-inspired cars, such as the Ariel Atom and BAC Mono.The Zenos E10, the brainchild of former Caterham boss Ansar Ali, is one of the latest entries to this segment, andAutocaris reporting that it'll be receiving some performance and other upgrades this fall. Last March, however, the now formerly UK-based company was saved from administration by AC Cars and its owner Alan Lubinsky. The problem Zenos had, according to Lubinsky, was simple: "The cars cost too much to build."

Now that Lubinsky and his fellow investor not only own the Zenos name but also all intellectual property, the turnaround begins. For starters, the company, in response to customer demands, is now developing for the E10 an updated braking system and better brake cooling, along with a new intercooler and exhaust system. In addition, the Ford-sourced 2.0-liter EcoBoost, currently producing 250 hp, will receive a power increase to a so far undisclosed figure. No word yet whether the 2.3-liter EcoBoost (sourced from the Focus RS) will also receive modifications. In order to ensure efficiency and remain on budget, E10 production will shift from the UK to South Africa. It appears aprice increasefrom the previous 27,995 GBP will also happen.

Fortunately, all of the expected upgrades will be offered to current E10 owners. The report didn't make any mention of a potential US market arrival, but we're keeping our fingers crossed anyway.
