Tesla Is Smashing Records Once Again

Looking at production in isolation, it was able to put together 305,407 units for its global consumers which is a record-breaking result for the brand. Regarding the impressive result, company founder Elon Musk tweeted, "This was an *exceptionally* difficult quarter due to supply chain interruptions and China's zero COVID policy. Outstanding work by Tesla team and key suppliers saved the day."

With this result, we question whether Tesla can achieve itsrather ambitious production goalof 20 million units annually by 2030. Musk says that the key to the company's strategy is not just building giga-factories all over the world but also refining the production process.

This is an aspect that Volkswagen can agree with too, as a recent report suggests it would be looking at using asimilar pressing techniqueto form the bodywork of its electric cars. Tesla currently uses this technology for the Model Y, allowing it to construct a car from start to finish in just 10 hours.

Tesla's strong start to the year should come as a glaring alert to manufacturers who have only recently dived into the EV sphere. Now that the supply chain is starting to loosen up, expect the younger auto-giant tomaintain this impressive momentumand break more records.
