More electric wheeled goodies to go with your Cybertruck!
Did you see that ATV at the reveal of the newTesla Cybertruck? As if the electric pickup wasn't enough to catch our attention, Musk and company rolled the quad cycle onto stage at the truck's unveiling, and straight up into the Cybertruck's bed.
It was more than enough to spark a flurry of speculation, and Elon himself was only too glad to add fuel to the fire. When the Tesla Owners Club of Silicon Valley asked their fearless leader on Twitter if there were any updates on the ATV, Musk tweeted in reply: "We'll aim to have it come out same time as the truck."
考虑到特斯拉将开始n producing the Cybertruck sometime in 2021, that means we could see the ride-on four-wheeled vehicle dubbed the "Cyberquad" sometime within the next two years. But wait, there's more.
Musk confirmed that the "two seater electric ATV" will be "designed to work with Cybertruck" and "will be fun!" He also suggested that "Electric dirt bikes would be cool too," but that "We won't do road bikes, as too dangerous. I was hit by a truck & almost died on one when I was 17." Yikes.
As it stands, the Cyberquad is, like everything else Tesla makes, motivated entirely by electricity. It's designed to fit inside the Cybertruck's pickup bed, and roll straight in using a ramp that telescopes right out of the rear-kneeling truck's tailgate. It's even supposed to be able to recharge from the Cybertruck's giant onboard batteries through a port inside the bed. And with design cues borrowed from the Cybertruck, it's bound to look like nothing else on or off the road.
The Cyberquad would ostensibly be the eighth electric vehicle in Tesla's lineup, following the the Cybertruck, theModel S,Model X,Model 3,Model Y, the newTesla Roadster, and the forthcoming Semi.
